James (Jim) Andrew Killgore, age 69, of St. Antonio, TX returned to his maker on Friday, September 28, 2012 at Morningside Manor following an extended illness. The family is so grateful for the loving care that Morningside offered him this past year as well as the end-of-life support provided by Vitas Innovative Hospice Care.

Jim was born March 26, 1943 in Minden, LA to James Cecil "J.C." Killgore and Sadie Chandler Killgore. Jim thoroughly enjoyed his older sisters, identical twins, Anna Daire and Ina Clair. When Jim was a baby, the family moved to Port Arthur, TX where they were active members of the First Christian Church. Following his graduation from Thomas Jefferson High School, he went on to study engineering at the local college. After serving in the Air Force, Jim pursued a career in the insurance claims business. After working for Crawford and Company in both Beaumont and Houston for fourteen years as a field adjuster and supervisor, Jim accepted a position as a claims examiner with United Services Automobile Association (USAA) in San Antonio where he remained until he retired in 1998.

Jim's interests included motorcycles, guns, target shooting, crossword puzzles, Sudoku, playing cards, bowling and his regular phone conversations with his sisters prior to their deaths.

Survivors include his daughter, Kristina Clair Killgore of Coppell, TX; his nieces, Leigh Ann Smith Paige Johnson of Littleton, CO; Teri Rogers Tibbetts of Mansfield, TX; and Shannon Paige Peterson of Clear Lake City, TX; his nephew, Terry Louis Paige of Houston, TX; his brother-in-law, Randall B. "Roy" Palmore of Crockett, TX, and his lifelong friends, Hugh and Cynthia Weeks of Port Arthur, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Cecil Killgore and Sadie Chandler Killgore; his twin sisters, Anna Turner Palmore and Ina K. Rundles; and his nephew, Jimmy Rogers. A graveside service will be held on October 11, at 11:00 AM at Lisbon Methodist Cemetery, 20048 Hwy 2, Lisbon, LA followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of James Andrew Killgore to Christian Foundation for Children and Aging, 1 Elmwood Ave, Kansas City, KS 66103, an organization whose mission is to walk with and lift up the poor and marginalized of the world, a non-profit close to his daughter, Kristina's heart.
