Jesse Howard White, age 90, of Forney, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Jesse was born on March 24, 1930 on an 80-acre farm in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, to Jesse Eugene White and Linnie Mae White. Jesse was raised in Titus County, Texas, and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1948. He was married to Louise for 41 years and the couple had 2 children, James Eugene and Jennie Lynn. He was a supervisor at Auto Convoy where he worked for 40 plus years. After he retired, Jesse took photography classes at Eastfield College where he passed all four classes with A's and also took up woodworking, buying every saw Sears made. In his spare time, Jesse enjoyed spending time with his family, The State Fair of Texas, being with the senior group at First Baptist Church of Forney, serving as a greeter and usher in the early service at church, and taking cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska, and South America. Jesse loved being with his grandkids, playing cards and eating goldfish, frosted mini-wheats, and moon pies. He and Louise never missed a music recital, choir concert, or a Friday night watching the kids march on the field with the band. Jesse and Louise enjoyed spending time with their best friends, Chad and Wilma Palmer. His family will always remember him as sweet, kind, and gentle… with a mischievous grin. When James was little and Jesse came home from work, they would play catch. Jesse would say "Ok let’s go in" and James would say "Just a few more minutes" and Jesse would say "Ok 3 more times, then it’s time to go in".... 3 more times always turned into 30 more minutes. Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Eugene White and Linnie Mae Davidson White; wife of 41 years, Louise M. White and daughter, Jennie Lynn White Childress. He is survived by his son, James Eugene White and wife, Wendy; granddaughter, Jessica Lynn White; grandson, Austin James White; son-in-law, Jamie Childress and grandsons, Justin Allan Childress and Jason Howard Childress. Jesse loved his son-in-law and daughter-in-law as if they were his own. The family would like to thank all of the excellent caregivers and staff at Cambridge Court in Mesquite, Texas. We know you loved him and we appreciate everything y’all have done for our family.
