Virginia Allen of Mooresville, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

She was born on January 2, 1919 in Chapel Hill, NC, to the late Joseph and Rena Daniel Woods. Ms. Allen loved growing roses and was a self-taught seamstress. She taught 3rd grade for many years and was well respected and loved by her students and their parents. Ms. Allen loved music and played the piano by ear and was a member of the church choir. She was a prayer warrior who had a favorite prayer teddy bear and was known to say “hug the bear and say my prayers”. She was always happy and cheerful with one of her favorite quotes being “Have a great day, every day!” She was quite the Christian lady.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fleet D. Allen, son-in law, Jerry Dean Henderson and 8 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Betty Sue Allen Henderson and Peggy Jo Allen Williamson (Andrew).

Visitation will be held at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 1:00-2:00 pm with a funeral service at 2:00 pm. An Entombment will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Cross Hill Cemetery, Carthage, NC.

Memorials may be made to Baptist Children’s Home of NC, 204 Idol St, Thomasville, NC 27360, Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
