Betty Jane Wheeler, age 94. formerly of Ellis, Kansas passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at the Catholic Care Center in Bel Aire, Kansas. She was born August 9, 1926 in Ellis to Daniel and Wilma (Hamburg) Schumacher. On November 5, 1946 she married C.O. “Chuck” Wheeler in Ellis. He preceded her in death October 31, 2006.

Betty was a retired Bookkeeper from Ellis State Bank and Keller Furniture. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Ellis. Betty enjoyed all kinds of crafts; needlepoint, Christmas ornaments, knitted sweaters, afghans, and dish cloths. She enjoyed cooking holiday meals and flower gardening roses and peonies.

She is survived by her children: Cindy Tull (Don) - Garden City, KS, Rhonda Ramsey (Duke) - Katy, TX, and Rory Wheeler (Joann) - Wichita, KS; 6 grandchildren, Matt Tull, Ryan Tull, Nicole Cherry, Darren Ramsey, Travis Wheeler and Tara Wheeler; 9 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dan Schumacher and a sister, Marilyn Deutscher
