Lebanon, NH -- Philip “Jerry” Wood, Jr., 86, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
He was born in Lebanon, NH September 24, 1934 to Esther (Puffer) and Philip Wood, Sr.
Jerry graduated from Lebanon High School, class of 1952. He was a track star in high school, was the captain of the track team and a member of the ski team.
Jerry was a proud member of the National Guard and a lifetime member of the BPOE Lodge 2099.
Jerry started work with several local dairies, drove truck for several years and worked as a machinist before his retirement.
Jerry was an avid woodsman who loved hunting and fishing. He toyed with black and white photography, developing his own photos. He loved snowmobiling and camping with family and friends. His favorite places were Cape Cod, MA, the Maine Coast, the NH White Mountains, the VT Green Mountains, and the Lake Champlain area.
After Ellen gave him his first riding lesson he fell in love with motorcycling and raced often, winning a few.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Esther and Philip Wood, Sr.
Jerry is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart of 67 years, Ellen (LaBelle) Wood; brother, Stanley (Phyllis) Wood; three children, Christine (Gene) Rabassa, Steven Wood, and Heidi (Douglas) Ahlquist; six grandchildren, Jason, Ross, Dougie, Timmy, Tommy, and KatyLynn; and seven great-grandchildren, Ariel, Aubrey, Ava, Lilliana, Cali Rose, Eveline, and Asher. He will be dearly missed by his wife, children, and friends.
