Larry D. Black Eagle, 60 of Lodge Grass, MT. Went home to be with the Lord on Oct.30,2020 in Billings, MT. He was born Oct. 20, 1960 in Toppenish, WA. to Myers and Julia Good Luck-Black Eagle. His Indian name Red Paint Across His Face, was given to him by his paternal Grandmother Ruth Black Eagle. He was a member of the Ties in the Bundle clan and a Big Lodge child. He grew up on the Lodge Grass area, attending Lodge Grass schools, while in school he actively participated in football and basketball. After graduation he attended Twin Bridges Vo-Tech for a short time before transferring to UTTC in Bismarck, ND where he received a certificated in welding. He put in 28 years at the Lodge Grass Clinic Indian Health Service and was loved by his co-workers.

During his younger years he enjoyed helping care for his Uncle Al’s horses and became the jockey for the Indian relay team, Black Eagle, until he sustained and injury. He was an active member of the Sweat Lodge Ceremony and one of the Hill Top Tabernacle.

He formed a special bond with this uncles, Sonny Blacks, Al. Pete, and Leo Good luck, he would help them chop wood, care for their horses, bail and stack hay. It was during these times he was instilled with wisdom and instruction he took heed to their advice and used it though out his life. He married the love of his life, Samantha, they were married for 35 years. With this marriage they had three children whom they were very proud of. He loved spending and doing everything for his grandchildren and his loving wife. He really loved his dog Grumpy.

He was proceeded in death by; his parents, wife Samantha, Mother-in-Law, Marie Lincoln, sisters; Charlene and Marilyn Black Eagle, Althea Good Luck, and Lauren Spint. Adopted Mother, Alta Bird In Ground. Brothers; Marlon, Jerrod, Hartford “Sonny” Black Eagle, Aloyious “Boy” Good Luck. Nephews; Aubrey Black Eagle, and Gareth Reed. Uncles; Francis Bear Claw.

Survivors include his children; Larin, Kallie, Cameron (Normanda) Black Eagle. Grandchildren; Sadie, Blake, Kysen, and Ameila. Addopted children; Lael McNabb, Derrel Harjo, Sisters: Geneva, Carol, and Luncinda Black Eagle, Evelyn Jefferson, Janet Big Lake, Brothers; Chad (Angie) Good Luck, Apostle Hoss (Joanne) Jack of Saskatchewan, Canada. Adopted parents, Lois and Jerome White Hip. Adopted Brothers: Cedric (Audrey), Hart (Dinah), Bradford (Billie Kaye), and LaGrant (Bertha) Black Eagle, Pastor Larry (Linda) Little Owl Sr, Brian, Dale (Christine), Mike (Loretta), Chris (Jacinta), Tex (Coty), Dean (Almeda), Leo (Aldena) Good Luck, Dennis Bravo, Calvin Coolidge (Rebecca) Jefferson, Royce (Marion) Wolfe. Adopted sisters: Tina Black Eagle, Mary Ruth (Danny) Plain Feather, Kathleen Dawes, Marella Gray Bull, Colleen, Veronica, Janice, Joyce Good Luck, Lavonne Spotted Horse, Bernadine (Rick) Evans, Monnie Bell Rock, Denise, Dorthy, Letha Jefferson, Jackie Pina.
