Richard L. Ball went to his heavenly home Friday, October 30, 2020.

Richard was born June 10, 1943, in Fort Worth, Texas to James Ball and Faye Carpenter Ball. He graduated from Technical High School in 1962. After graduation, Richard joined the Navy during the Vietnam War. After the war, Richard became a letter carrier with the US Postal Service, and retired after several decades with multiple awards and accommodations for his customer service and strong work ethic. He particularly enjoyed playing pitcher for the post office's organized softball league. Richard attended Harwood Baptist Church until he fell ill in the later years of his life.

Richard was a man of many talents and interests. He was an amazing landscaper, a passion of his that started early in life and was revitalized after his retirement. Richard took great pride in his work, and even landscaped the yards of professional athletes. He was also a very talented builder known for tackling large projects, such as building a stone fireplace and a sun room by hand. Richard also collected coins, and loved playing cards and dominoes.

Richard will always be remembered for his fun loving sense of humor and his caring nature. He never hesitated to help those in need. As a father, Richard was supportive, loving, and attentive. Richard's kindhearted nature, strong work ethic, and his great sense of humor will always be cherished.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Faye Ball.

Survivors: Son, Richard L. Ball, Jr.; daughter, Lori Wagner and husband, James Wagner; grandsons, Colton Ball, Garrett Gustin, and Andrew Wagner; granddaughters, Amber Jordan, Megan Hawkins, Britney Gustin, Tatum Ball; and great-grandson, Carter Gustin; great-granddaughters, Mylo Bernard, Lucy Bernard, and Skylar Jordan; sister, Donna Ball Wedeking; brother, Johnny Allen Ball; several nieces and nephews; and several friends.
