Dennis Ross Maldonado of Union City, TN passed away unexpectedly in the early hours of November 3rd, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorraine McCaleb and Ross Maldonado, his great-grand daughter Lily Chapman and his beloved Shih Tzu Daisy.

Dennis was born February 17th, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan. Dennis lived in Detroit, San Antonio and Trimble, TN during his childhood years. After graduating high school, he joined the USAF. He spent a few years enlisted and then attended the USAF Academy and became commissioned. After he was commissioned, he trained to become a navigator first, then a pilot. He mainly flew B-52s. He spent 20 years in the USAF traveling the globe, doing what he loved and making special memories with his family when he was not flying. He spent two tours in Vietnam and ended his career as highly decorated Captain to include the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters among many others.

Dennis retired from the USAF in 1978. He began his next 20-year career as a rural postal carrier. He also delivered newspapers early mornings.

After retirement from the USPS, he became interested in genealogy. He began dedicating his life to helping others. When he was not busy spending time with his grandsons, he was helping others whether it be genealogy via the web or knocking on neighbors' doors asking elders if they needed help. He also spent many hours volunteering at the local library. He was a faithful contributor to the Wounded Warriors and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He had a servant's heart and lived selflessly always ensuring others were taken care of.
