Once Of Sunbury

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Howerter, 85, a former resident of 1246 North River Avenue, Sunbury an a guest at the Hollie Peace Nursing Home, Shamokin Dam for the past four years, died inhe Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Wednesday afternoon at 2:17 o'clock. She had been in the hospital since Sunday and was in failing health for several years.
She was born at Hickory Corners, May 13, 1880, a daughter of the late Charles T. and Minna Crouthamel Kamp. She lived in Sunbury most of her life. Her late husband, William, preceded her in death November 8 1955. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church Sunbury.
Survivors include one son, Roy Clark, Bethesda, Md. and four grandchildren; the following sisters and brothers, Mrs. Katie Kessler, Philadelphia; Miss Ella Kamp, Sunbury; Mrs. Osmund Heim, Sunbury; Mrs. Flora Farmer, Wooster, Ohio; Mrs. Gertrude Stecher, Fort Lauderdale, Fla; Mrs. Charles Keen, Hickory Corners; Charles Wilson Kamp, Wooster, Ohio and Ellis Kamp, Windsor, Pa., and a number of nieces and nephews.
funeral services will be held from the Dorsife funeral home in Sunbury, Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. Henry L. Reed, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church of Sunbury will officiate. Burial will be made at the Pomfret Manor Cemetery. Friends will be received by the family at the Dorsife funeral home Friday evening.
