Mrs. Jean Stockner Bowman, age 93, of Cana, VA, passed away on Friday May 5, 2023, at Senior Home Share in Galax. She was born in Carroll County on November 28, 1929, to the late Claud Bryan Stockner and Marie Payne Stockner. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Murphy Franklin Bowman; grandson, Ryan Payne; and her siblings, Ruth Opaline Stockner Banks, Isaac William Stockner, Claud Bryan "CB" Stockner, Jr., Bobby Delane Stockner, Nita Lynn Stockner Martin, and infant Sarah Ann Stockner.

Jean was retired from Renfro Corporation and was a long-time member of Rocky Ford Christian Church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 10, 2023, at Rocky Ford Christian Church at 2:00PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
