Catherine L. "Cathy" Bush, 73, formerly of Parsons, Ks. passed away at 3:37 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Anthology of Olathe Senior Living in Olathe, Kansas.
Catherine Louise Hickey was born on November 18, 1946 to John Joseph and Betty Jane (Lucas) Hickey in Columbus, Kansas. When Cathy was a young girl, she was adopted and raised by her grandmother, Jessie (McLeod) Lucas. She grew up and attended school in Columbus, Kansas, graduating from Cherokee County Rural High School in 1964.
Over they years, Cathy worked as a bartender in the Parsons area. She was a Christian and was a lifetime member of the Brown-Bishop, VFW Post 704 Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the Elks Lodge 527. An excellent pool player, Cathy won numerous trophies playing pool. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She also enjoyed scrapbooking and collecting.
Cathy and Richard L. Reasoner were married. They later divorced. On December 1, 1975 she and Thomas James "Jim" "T.J." Bush were married at the First Baptist Church in Parsons, Kansas. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2014.
Survivors include: Richard Reasoner and his fiance, Pam of Independence, Kansas, Rex Reasoner and wife ,Marta of Olathe, Kansas and Roy Reasoner and wife ,Jennifer of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; one daughter, Denise Bush of Excelsior Springs, Missouri.; sixteen grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, T.J. Bush; two sons, Raymond Reasoner (Died in 1997) and Thomas Bush (Died in October of 2010; one daughter, Lesta Sutherby (Died July of 2010); one great-grandson, Raymond A. Reasoner (Died in 2018).
Graveside services was at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the McCune Cemetery for the interment of Cathy and T.J. Bush.
