Samuel “Sammy” Joseph Ross, age 68, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday October 31, 2020 at his home with his family by his side. He was born May 26, 1952 in Wilmington, Ohio the son of the late Raymond and Alma (Lyons) Ross. Samuel was a carpenter and mechanic for over 40 years. He enjoyed tinkering on cars in his spare time and spending time with his family and friends. Samuel is survived by his wife of 12 years, Karen (Moore) Ross; four children, Bobbie Jo Ross, Samuel M. Ross, Hilda (Krist) Merriman, and Samuel J. George; seven grandchildren, Samuel-Michael G. Ross, Destiny B. Ross, Macayla Bales, Nysa C. Merriman, Johnny Smith, Skye C. Phelps, and Chance J. Ross; six siblings, Roger (Diane) Wright, Sherman Wright, May Jane Wine, Ray (Sandra) Ross, Sue Reed, Starr (Mike) Brown, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Samuel Nelson Ross, a granddaughter, Storm Alma Ross, and a brother, Tommy Wright. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday November 4, 2020 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral services will take place at 7:00 p.m. following visitation on Wednesday November 4th at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.
