Mrs. Annie Ruth Harris, 75, was born on September 6, 1945 in Moss Point, Ms., where she was a life long resident. She entered eternal rest on October 30, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents Nathan and Mamie Simmons.
She graduated Magnolia High School in 1964. She then attended Tuskegee Institute, where she received her BS in Business Management in 1969. She was employed by Ingalls Shipbuilding as an Engineer for 37 yrs, until her retirement in 2005.
Mrs. Harris was a devoted Wife and Mother, who loved her family dearly. She enjoyed traveling and supporting her children in all activities.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted husband of 53 yrs, Mr. Tyree Harris, 4 sons; 2 Biological, Trenlon (Jennifer) Harris and Tremayne Harris, she raised 2 as her own; LaDarius Simmons and Satarious Hunter, 1 daughter she raised as her own; Nona Simmons, all of Moss Point, Ms.; her grandchildren, Trenika Harris, Trenlon (TJ) Harris Jr., Darnell Deflanders, Fabian Chestang, Deja Harris, Shawana Wright-Vernado, Quentin Miller, and Joseph May, her siblings; brothers, Nathan (Melvia) Simmons Jr., Raymond (DeLois) Simmons, and Willie (Praxede) Simmons, sisters; Rosemary Dubose-McCovery and Twanna Simmons. Also a host of nieces, nephews, in laws, and other relatives.
