C.W. Edwards

C.W. Edwards, 68, of Lubbock, died Thursday at a local hospital. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Resthaven Funeral Home. Memorial services will be 6 p.m. Monday at Monterey High School Auditorium in Lubbock.

Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Garden of Memories in Sweetwater. Pastor Gary Kirksey will officiate.

C.W. Edwards was born Sept. 20, 1935, in Abilene to the late Cloice William and Jo Lillian Edwards. He graduated from Trent High School in 1953 and from Texas Tech with a B.S. in Education in 1962. He received his master's in Education from Texas Tech in 1967.

C.W. served a tour of duty with the U.S. Army. He retired from L.I.S.D. as an Assistant Principal at J.T. Hutchinson Jr. High in 1993, but continued working with the school system in many different roles until his death.

Survivors include a daughter, Belinda O'Halloran of Plano; son, Rick Edwards and wife Wendy of Lubbock; sister, LaNelle Hodge of Abilene; three grandchildren, Brianne O'Halloran, Carson Nicole Edwards and Ryan Grant Edwards; two nieces; and one nephew.

Memorials may be made to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
