He was born March 6, 1958 in Beardstown, Illinois the son
of Jack R. and Marilyn J. Wort Mitchell.
Greg was a truck driver for Timewell Tile in Timewell, Illinois for several years.
He graduated from Brown County High School with the class of 1977.
Greg was a member of the First Baptist Church of Versailles.
He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited and always enjoyed hunting,
fishing and attending the Brown County Deer Classic every year.
Survivors include his father Jack Mitchell of Mt. Sterling. 2 sons
Alex and Adam Mitchell both of Nellinville, Missouri.
2 step daughters Courtney and Kiley Garfield both of Mt. Sterling.
5 brothers Dale Mitchell and his wife Laura, Carl Mitchell and his wife Nancy,
Keith Mitchell, Kent Mitchell and his wife Jackie all of Mt. Sterling and
Clay Mitchell and his wife Sheryl of Rushville also survive
along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by 1 son Aaron Michael Mitchell,
his mother and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2007
in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Rev. Greg Hill officiating.
Burial will be in the Mt. Sterling Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call any time after 2:00 on Tuesday with the family meeting
friends from 5:00 until 8:00 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Friends may also call from 8:00 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to the Greg Mitchell Children's Education Fund
