Leslie Thompson Preston, better known as Tom, age 87, of New Lebanon, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 11, 2020. Born June 18, 1932 in Junction City, Kentucky, Tom was the son of Ishmael and Mallie Preston and brother to Francis, Emma, Harold and Betty. Tom, a highly decorated veteran of the Korean War, he graduated with a Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Dayton and retired from Dayton Tire, DP&L and Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Tom was a quiet and thoughtful man, an intellectual and patriot who worked hard all his life. He spoke little but when he did people listened.
Tom is survived by his son and daughter in law: Ron and Tori Preston, grandchildren: Nicholas and Rebecca Preston of Springfield, Missouri; daughter and son in law: Pam and Jeff Luikart, grandchildren: Nick, Nathan, Noah and Meghann Luikart, great grandchildren: Colt Meyers and Harrison Luikart, all of Athens, Ohio and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends throughout the community and the country.
