Mrs. May D. (Kibbee) Osgood, 66, widow of the late Arthur G. Osgood, died at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23d, at Gifford Memorial hospital, where she had been a patient since suffering a cerebral hemorrhage and paralytic shock nearly three months ago.
Mrs. Osgood, daughter of Lewis N. and Jennie M. (Fish) Kibbee, was born at East Randolph, May 1, 1874. She graduated from Randolph State Normal school in the class of 1892. July 15, 1913, she married Arthur G. Osgood, a prominent citizen of East Randolph and Randolph, who died Dec. 23, 1921. Mrs. Osgood resided at the home on School street, formerly the White church parsonage, purchased by Mr. Osgood. She was a member of Bethany church and Beulah chapter, No. 15, O.E.S.
Surviving relatives are two sisters, Mrs. C.E. Camp of Stockton, Ca., and Mrs. C.L. Bailey of Lafayette, Cal.; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Irving L. Kibbee of Keene, N.H.; four nephews and two nieces; also two step-daughters, Sister Mary Theodora of Vancouver, B.C., and Miss Elsie Osgood of Burlington.
The funeral will be held at the Randolph Funeral Service Home at 1 p.m. on Friday, with burial in South View cemetery beside the husband. [Herald and News, Randolph, Vermont, Thurs., October 24, 1940, p.11]
