Per Vig Files:

Joseph, Mahala, and family arrived in Nebraska the winter of 1856-57 (another account says 1855) and settled in DeSoto. A resident of DeSoto; Joseph was shot and killed on his front porch by Bill Frazier, a brother to Thomas Frazier, who is interred at Ft Calhoun.

A sister to Joseph's wife, Hannah Mahala (grave 1), is interred next to her. This sister apparently passed after Malaha and was then buried next to her in an unmarked grave. When son, William, passed away in 1909, they ended up digging into her grave and then Perry remembered his aunt was interred there.

However, according to cemetery records, "Mahala" is located in grave 1, Perry in grave 2, and William in grave 3.
