Peter John Marsh was the first-born son to William (Bill) and Karen Marsh, born on September 5, 1974 at Providence Hospital in Southfield MI. After graduating from St. Regis Catholic School, He attended Brother Rice High School in Bloomfield Hills, MI where he was a member of the lacrosse and wrestling teams. He went on to Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology and started their first intramural indoor roller hockey league. Peter’s first entrepreneurial effort was at Marquette where he designed, produced and sold t-shirts in protest of the changing of the Marquette mascot’s name. Following college, Peter moved back to the Detroit metro area and was instrumental in creating momentum for the revitalization of the City of Detroit. He was a founding member of Detroit Synergy, which was a grass roots effort to promote the arts and culture in the City of Detroit.

Peter worked closely with his father Bill in their family’s real estate business, where he worked in property management and historic building renovation. Peter completed a condo renovation project in Midtown Detroit, was very active with numerous non-profits and was immensely passionate about the city. He was a devoted fan of the Detroit Lions and was excited every year about creating a pond hockey rink at his childhood home for his nieces and nephews to learn the sport.

Peter was generous and caring. In his free time he could often be found volunteering at soup kitchens and working to start foundations to help those less fortunate. He had a true love for nature and the environment. He actively worked to establish recycling programs. He was active in the boy scouts, earning the Eagle Scout rank, which only a select few boy scouts achieve. Peter had a strong faith and interest in spirituality. Peter avidly studied all religions and often attended seminars at Manresa Jesuit Retreat House. Peter also attended church regularly at St. Mary’s, Royal Oak.
