Barbara Anderson Butler, age 82, of Madisonville, Tennessee was reunited unexpectedly with her grandson in Heaven on Friday, October 30, 2020. She attended First Baptist Church of Madisonville. For 48 years, Barbara was Registrar at Hiwassee College, a job that she enjoyed deeply. She took great pleasure in helping many students graduate. She was a devoted wife of 62 years and had a great love and admiration towards her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, which she spoke of often. She always had a story to tell. She loved to be in the kitchen cooking or baking for family, friends, and neighbors. Barbara had a joyous reunion in Heaven with her parents, Earl and Janie Mae Anderson, her grandson, Jordan Rausin and step granddaughter, Lexie Hedles. She would have told you the best time of her life was the time spent with her grandchildren.
Barbara leaves friends too numerous to count. Those who knew her appreciated her sincerity and giving spirit. Barbara is survived by her spouse of 62 years, Melvin Butler. Children, Gary Butler of Madisonville, TN, Barry (Chris) Butler of Sparta, TN, Tammy Rausin of Philadelphia, TN and Terry (Martin) Laettner of Nashville, TN. She was indescribably proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
