Rebecca S. Barber, 75, of New Palestine, passed away December 9, 2016 at her home in New Palestine with her family by her side. She was born October 3, 1941, in Urbana, Illinois to Morris Dale and Virginia Irene (Atkinson) Foster.

She later met and married Thomas L. Barber and they have enjoyed many happy years together. After completing her education in nursing, Rebecca worked for several as an LPN for the Marion County Home. Following her work as a nurse, she worked at home, raising and taking care of her family. Rebecca was an avid reader, who also enjoyed antiquing, knitting, and crocheting, but found the most joy in the time she spent amongst family and close friends.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter, Joyce Elaine (Allen) Cooper; granddaughters, Kendra (Michael) Gaines, Candice Cooper and her fiancé, Zachary McFarland; great-grandsons, Micah, Thomas and Benjamin; brothers, Michael (Pam) Foster; Kennard (Margaret) Foster; sister, Sarah (Joe) Linville; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preced in death by daughter, daughter, Virginia Lou Barber.
