Karen E. Ryan passed away peacefully on October 23, 2020.
Born in Troy, Karen was the daughter of Catherine Herrington Jensen and the late Donald H. Jensen and was the cherished wife of the late Michael F. Ryan who passed away on October 26, 2020.
In addition to her mother, Karen is survived by her siblings Cathy (Richard, Jr.) Wark, Kevin (Joanne) Jensen; in-laws, Colleen (Peter) Storings, Peggy Ryan, Tina (Todd) Rorick, Vincent (Marybeth) Ryan and Edward (Karen) Ryan; She was the loving aunt of Richard "Ricky" Wark-III, Kristopher Wark (Karen's godson), Bethanie Wark, Joyce-Lynn Jensen, Mitchell Jensen, Arielle Ooms, Megan Ooms, Katelyn Ooms, Liam Storings, Stephanie Smith (Dustin), Molly Rorick, Jesse Ryan (Marenah), Kyle Ryan (Jackie), Casey Ryan--Michael's godson, late Alexander Ryan, Sean Ryan, Collin Smith, Kayleigh Ryan, Jaxson Smith, Spencer Ryan and Christopher Ryan. Surviving aunts and uncles include: Aunt Norma Fletcher, Uncle Peter "the Wizard of Id" (Sharon), Uncle James (Betty) Herrington, Aunt Marge, and Aunt Muriel "Duff" Chestnut. Karen is also survived by many cousins.
Karen was predeceased by her brother Kenneth Jensen as well as several aunts and uncles.
She was the loving mom to many fur babies who are Tiki, Kiki, Little Bit, Taz, Leah-Louise, Dozer, Zoe, Abel "oof, oof", Easter, Callie, Jake, Gracie and Snickers. She had many interests including caring for our mother and father, she loved to shop and never met a coupon she did not like, reading and puzzle games.
Karen worked at St. Peter’s Hospital, initially as a patient care technician on the floors and then on the cardiac floor as a cardiac monitoring tech.
She started her working career at Samaritan Hospital in the Radiology Department, where she met her husband Michael.
She also worked at Leonard Hospital and Capital Region Cardiology Associates.
