Obituary for Melissa Annette Chapman
Melissa “Missy” Annette Chapman, 53, of Orange, passed away on October 30, 2020, at Harbor Hospice after a 7-month battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be 10:00, Tuesday, November 3, at First Baptist Church in Mauriceville. Officiating will be Reverend Kevin Brown. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Orange, Texas, on November 13, 1966, she was the daughter of James Cooper and Bobbie (Mason) Cooper. Missy had various jobs to support the family, but her main job was being a mother to her two girls. She graduated from LCM High School in 1985 and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Mauriceville. Missy loved animals, reading, doing crafts, and traveling. Her most favorite trips were going to the lake with family whom she adored most of all. She was a loving wife, mother, and Mimi to her grandbabies, and left an impact on many lives that will last a lifetime.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Cooper.

She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Sonny Chapman of Mauriceville, mother, Bobbie Cooper also of Mauriceville; children, Larissa DeBlanc and husband Phillip of Beaumont and Chasity Chapman and fiancé Thomas Middleton of Austin; grandchildren, Melanie DeBlanc and Grant DeBlanc; sister, Susan Overstreet and husband Michael of Beaumont; and niece and nephew, Kaylie Overstreet and Blake Overstreet.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society at 1640 North Major Drive # 101, Beaumont, Tx, 77713 or to the ASPCA at 7007 Old Katy Rd, Houston, Tx, 77024.
