Karen Ruth (Kettunen) Adams, Age 79, passed away on October 23, 2020 peacefully at St. Therese of New Hope, Minnesota of natural causes.

Karen was born in Nashwauk, Minnesota in 1641. A true Minnesota Bad Ass, Glamour Shots Beauty and friend to the Minneapolis punk scene, she was an overachiever, the homecoming queen, valedictorian of her class, skier of the iron ore dumps, a high school majorette and a synchronized swimmer.

Karen was a University of Minnesota alum, member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority, and was a pioneer in the field of Physical Therapy. She started the Physical Therapy Department at Cambridge Memorial Hospital and was a Registered Physical Therapist for over 40 years helping thousands of patients.

She is survived by her daughter and was preceded in death by her husband John and her parents Ruth & Elmer Kettunen.

Many loving thanks to the staff at St. Therese Nursing Home who have helped as Karen endured so much pain this year; they are all special people with the biggest hearts.

Karen did not want a funeral and chose to donate her body to the U of MN, Minneapolis Anatomy Program to continue to be a positive force in this world.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to familypathways.org. Don't be sad, be happy! She won the jackpot. She did it her way. Truly Karen by Night.
