Thomas, 66, of Clare, passed away at home surrounded by his family after a very brief battle with cancer, on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020. He was the son of Floyd Edward “Shorty” and Betty Lou (Snear) Spicer.

He married the former Sandra Sersaw on March 4, 1981 and Sandra survives him. Tom had been a Machine operator for Dayco Products. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, being outside and working on his truck. He was always tinkering with something or mowing his lawn.

Tom is survived by his wife Sandra, his daughter, Wendy Spicer (Kye DeVries), his son, Scott Schroeder (Tasha Murdock), daughter, Angela (Adam) Palmer, the father of his grandsons, Seth Methner, his grandchildren, Bryce, Jayce, and Kenzie, and all of his kids friends that he “adopted” over the years. Also surviving are his brothers, Dan Spicer (Sandi), Randy (Cheri) Spicer, Scott Spicer, and his sister, Sharon Searight, and several Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter, Ryder, son, Jim Bob Schroeder, and brother, James.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 30, at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Ives officiating. Friends may meet with his family at the funeral home on Friday.
