Obituary for Harold Donald Henderson
Harold Donald Henderson, 84, of Silsbee, passed away on October 30, 2020, at home.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, November 1, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Pastor Jon Jones. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Goose Creek, Texas, on May 29, 1936, he was the son of Claude Henderson and Jonnie (Smith) Henderson. Harold was raised Assembly of God. He moved to Orange with his family as a young boy. During his grade school years, he attended Stark Middle School where he and his friends skipped school and escaped to the attic. As they were enjoying their escape Harold fell through the attic of the school onto the principal’s desk. At the young age of 13 Harold learned carpentry work, that would help him in his future endeavors. He went on to serve in the United States Army for 4 years. In 1966 Harold became the owner and operator of Mire Cabinet Works in Groves. He was a hardworking man and spent most of his time in the shop building and making a living for his wonderful family. Harold retired from the cabinet shop in 2009. He enjoyed baseball and playing golf. Harold will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Claude and Jonnie Henderson; grandchildren, Breanna Broussard and Sandy Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jo Ann Henderson; children, Cheryl Broussard and husband Robert of Bridge City, Chad Henderson and wife Amber Henderson of Port Neches, Diane Smith and husband Joe of Silsbee, Terry Clark of St. George, Utah; grandchildren, Katelyn Broussard, Landon Henderson, Christine Ermer; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Broussard, Sandy Ermer, Sofia Ermer and Chase Smith; Sisters, Peggy James, Shirley Fisher and Patricia Oswalt

Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin McCugh, Randy Oswalt, Dale Henderson, Price Kyler, Keith Oswalt, Steven Oswalt, Jeff Henderson, Chase Smith and Joe Smith.
