Gregory D. Banks, of Spencer passed away at IU Health Bloomington Hospice House on Friday, October 30, 2020. Greg was 61 years old. He was the son of James Vernon Banks and Carol (Wininger) Lake born on September 8, 1959, in Bloomington.
Greg was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving from 1977 to 1979. He married Robin (Cranfield) Banks on August 23, 1979. Greg worked at Greiner Engineering until his retirement. Greg was a family man and spent a lot of time with his grand babies and family. He was an avid biker traveling with his sons and brothers to many ABATE functions, rally's, and biker festivals. Greg could often be found fishing with his friends and family at a local pond or lake. His love, laughter and friendship will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Greg was a Loving Husband to his wife, Robin Banks; Loving Son to Carol Lake of Spencer; Pop's to Three Sons, Jeffrey (Misty) Banks of Spencer, Jimmy (Nicole) Banks of Bloomington, and Jake (Laura) Jacobs of Ellettsville; Grandfather to Ten Grandchildren; Brother to Larry (Kaykee) Banks of Spencer, Craig Summit of Indianapolis, Jacqueline (Robert) Phelps of Indianapolis, and April (Joe) Sheedy; and Uncle to Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Greg will also be missed by his Beloved Pet Companion, Daisy Mae.
He was preceded in death by his Father, James Vernon Banks and Two Brothers, Jeffrey Duane Banks, and James Douglas Banks.
A Celebration of Greg's Life will be held at a later date. Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville is assisting with cremation arrangements.
