Susan Louise Lewis, 66, of Long Island, New York, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 29th, 2020 in Tucson, Arizona.
Susan was born on December 17, 1953 to Bert and Jessica Forster. She married Franklin Charles Lewis on May 27, 1973 who preceded her in death.
Susan is survived by her brother Jonathan, and her two children Melanie and Benjamin. Frank and Susan lived in New Paltz, New York for many years where they built a home and started their family. In 1994, they moved to Arizona to escape the harsh New York winters and try their hands at desert life.
Susan was a Cecchetti trained ballerina and anyone who knows her, knows that dancing was her absolute passion. She was a talented dancer, an encouraging teacher, a beloved wife, and a devoted mother who also loved to cook, was an avid movie critic, and always loved to add her own flair and pizzazz to everything. Her loved ones new her as "Susie" or "Suz" and could always count on her sense of humor and her sharp New York whit. Susan was a very special human who influenced many, was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed.
Special thanks to Susan's caretakers at Famiglia Amore for their outstanding compassion and support over the past few months.
A small memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 2pm at Evergreen Cemetery: 3015 N. Oracle Rd, Tucson, AZ, 85705. The service will also be available virtually for those who wish to pay their respects to Susan but are unable to physically attend.
