Richard Joseph Corbin, age 80 of Silex, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2020 at his residence.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, November 2, 2020 at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Burial will be held at the St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Sunday at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Silex.

Richard was born March 13, 1940 in Oelwein, IA, the son of Clair Richard and Agnus Schafer Corbin, where he grew up and graduated from Valley High High School in 1959. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served for four years and was honorable discharged. On September 25, 1971, he married Peggy Louise Ohmes in St. Charles, MO. To this union there were 2 children.

Survivors include wife Peggy Corbin of Silex; son Rick Corbin of Silex; daughter Melissa Scott (Rob) of Troy; grandchildren Ashley Corbin of Moscow Mills, Bella Nolte and Lucas Nolte of Troy; siblings Colleen Daniels, Ron Corbin, Karen French, Diane Nelson, and Dave Corbin; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dennis Corbin.

Richard worked for McDonald Douglas in St. Louis for many years and retired in 1998. Upon retirement, he enjoyed tinkering with his old tractors, taking his grandchildren to tractor shows, and going on vacations to Florida. He had a great sense of humor and an appetite for Granny's cooking, never letting any food go to waste. Above all, he enjoyed being with his family. He was a member of the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and the American Legion.

Serving as pallbearers will be Rob Scott, Brandon Rohlfing, Mark Ohmes, Tony Ohmes, Justin Henry, and Gerald Nanney.
