Nicholas Charles Henry, son of Chuck and Roberta Henry, was born on March 25, 1992, at Creston, Iowa. Nick entered eternal rest on Friday, May 28, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
On Sunday, May 23, 2010, Nick received his High School Diploma from Creston High School. Through his school years, Nick participated in Little League baseball and soccer and was a member of the Panther Express Youth Wrestling Team. As a freshman, Nick was a member of the Creston High School Wrestling Team that won 2007 State and State Dual titles.
Nick was a baptized and confirmed member of Salem Lutheran Church.
Since age 3, Nick has participated in the martial arts. He took Tae Kwon Do classes for many years and in October 2006 earned his 1st Degree Black Belt. In his years of TKD training, he participated in many tournaments both local and traveling to Indianapolis and Kansas City. A favorite tournament was the Iowa Games. He progressed into Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) training and had his first cage fight in November 2009. On May 8, 2010, Nick won the 125 lb. Champion Belt Title for the Battleground organization.
Nick loved watching a variety of movies and could recite lines of dialogue from numerous movies. He especially enjoyed comedy. Nick planned to move to California where he would be close to the movie industry and write screenplays. Family and friends will greatly miss Nicks unique sense of humor and quick comebacks.
Left to cherish Nicks memory are his parents, Chuck and Bert Henry; brother, Josh Henry, and special friend, Hailey Lange; grandmother, Roberta Henry; uncle and aunt, Mike and Maureen Henry; cousins, Zach and Keirstan Henry and their mother, Michelle; special friends, the Lange family, all of Creston, Iowa; grandparents, Bob and Bernice Cerven; uncle and aunt, Roger and Becky Cerven; cousins, Brielle, Jon, and Andrew Cerven, all of Stanton, Iowa; uncle,Bernard Cerven of Villisca, Iowa; great-great aunt Mary Jo Foster of Afton, Iowa; and many more relatives and friends.
Nick was preceded in death by his grandfather, David Henry; aunt, Linda Henry; and cousin, Travis Henry.
