Alberta Malmay Raines
September 09, 1930 - October 28, 2020

Mrs. Alberta (Abby) M. Raines passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Spring Lake Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Monday, November 2, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Officiating will be Fr. Kevin Mues. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery.

Alberta (Abby) retired after 30 years of employment with the Army and Airforce Exchange Service. She was an active parishioner at St. Joseph, where she participated in R.C.I.A., was an original member of the Perpetual Adoration group and served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. For many years she was a dedicated Pink Lady volunteer at Schumpert Hospital. She loved her family and was deeply loved by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Alberta was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Fred H. Raines; and her parents, John and Margaret Malmay of Noble, LA. Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Raines and Pollie Jones and husband, Tom; her grandchildren, Thomas Jones and wife, Carla, Kim Castillo and husband, Marc, Kelly Biedenharn and husband, James, Ashley Mastin and Sean Mastin; her great grandchildren, Camille Jones, William Jones, Abby Castillo, Kinley Castillo, Beau Biedenharn, Bret Biedenharn, Melody Hudak and Brayden Hernandez; she is also survived by her sister Pauline Richardson and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church. The family would like to express sincere gratitude for the care and support provided by the healthcare team at Spring Lake Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.
