Curtis Ray Kerlin, 82, died unexpectedly at his home on October 27, 2020.

He was born January 22, 1938 in Taylor, Texas, the son of Emil and Alice (Leschber) Kerlin.

Curtis graduated from Thrall High School, Class of 1956. Following graduation, he attended Navarro Junior College on a football scholarship. In 1958, he married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Fuchs. They settled in Austin, Texas.

Curtis was a machinist/welder and his career spanned over 50 years working for Industrial Instruments, Astro Mechanics, Tomecek Electric Motor and Austin Armature Works.

Curtis enjoyed the outdoors, fishing with family and friends, watching his grandkids play sports and an occasional trip to the casino.

Curtis leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Carolyn (Fuchs) Kerlin; his daughter, Carla (Pete) Heller of Georgetown and his son, Coby (Diane) of Pflugerville.

He also leaves behind six grandchildren; Stacey (Barret) Randig, Blake (Alicia) Huber, Ciara (Spencer) Wood, Easton Kerlin, Kandis Kerlin, Kyler Kerlin and four step-grandsons; Corey, Zachary, Brent and Jesse Caballero.

Curtis was blessed with nine great-grandchildren; Dillon Cone, Ava Huber, Ashlynn Huber, Kason Huber, Beau Randig, Brody Randig, London Wood, Sydney Wood, Kassidy Collins and one step-grandchild; Jessi Caballero. A service of remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 31st at the St. John Lutheran Church, 409 South Main, Thrall, TX.
