He was a retired truck driver having worked for Jumping Jack Shoes in Monett, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Monett, the Monett Masonic Lodge, Monett Eastern Star and served in the Missouri National Guard of Monett.
George is survived by Delorce of the home; one son: George Steele of Hot Springs, Arkansas; one brother: James Steele of Ardmore, Tennessee; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Betty; his daughter: Lucretia Conway on June 24, 2007, and one sister: Roberta Clay.
Visitation for George is being held on Friday October 30, 2020 from 5:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri. Graveside services are being held on Saturday October 31, 2020 at 2:30p.m. at the Monett I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monett, Missouri.
