CHRIS REISWIG ILLNESS FATAL
Chris W. Reiswig a resident of Lodi for the first 26 years, a retired farmer, passed away at his home at 328 Maple Street, Lodi after an extended illness. He was 76 years old and a native of South Russia.
Mr. Reiswig came to British Columbia over 70 years ago from Russia with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. William Reiswig, where the family was raised and the parents farmed extensively.
About 30 years ago Mr. Reiswig with his own family moved to Harvey, North Dakota, where they lived and farmed until 1922 when the family moved to the Lodi District and have lived here since. He was active in farming until a few years ago in the Lodi district.
Funeral services will be held from the Hilborn Adventist Church Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Carl Becker officiating and burial will be in the Cherokee Memorial Park, with Lodi Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
He was the husband of Mrs. Charlotte Reiswig of Lodi and the father of Robert Reiswig of Calgary, Canada; Isaac Reiswig of St. Helena, Albert Reiswig of Livingston; Ed Reiswig of Chico, Mrs. William Thut of Antioch, Mrs. Clara Heinke of Oakland, Henry Reiswig of Challenge, Calif., Herbert Reiswig of Stockton, Mrs. Lorene Rouse of Port Chicago, Calif.
The deceased was the stepfather of John Wagner and Jake Wagner of Lodi, Mrs. Lydia Wagner, Mrs. Gus Mayer and Mrs. E. M. Heiser all of Acampo; George Wagner of Wenatchee, Wash., Mrs. John Tonn of Lodi, Mrs. Lydia Suckett of Headon, North Dakota, John Baumbach of Seekston, North Dakota, Eddie Baumbach of Seekston, North Dakota, Valentine Baumback of Lodi.
Mr. Reiswig was the brother of Mrs. Katie Bientz and Mrs. Mary Hagel both of Couer D´Alene, Idaho.
Twenty six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive.
