Brian John Grothouse, of Delphos, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016. He was born December 18, 1979, in Lima to John E. and Diane K. (Eggeman) Grothouse. They survive in Delphos. He is also survived by his sister Tracy ( Andy) Wasem, two nieces, Claire and Cate, and a nephew, Carder, all of Johnstown, Oh. He was preceded in death by his maternal gradparents, Harold and Ladonna Eggeman, and his paternal grandparents, John I. and Mary Grothouse. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, and a 1998 graduate of St. John's High School. He was employed by Crown Equipment in Celina. He was a member of the Son's of the American Legion post 268 and auxiliary member 3035 of the VFW. Brian was an avid Buckeye fan and enjoyed all sports. He was a very good cook and loved to have friends and family over for cookouts. His dad especially loved his biscuits and gravy, and his mom said they were better than Bob Evans! His red Camaro was a source of great pride and enjoyment for him. It was always spotless. He drew his strength from his family including his Mom, Dad, Tracy, Andy, Claire, Carder and Cate. His nieces and nephew loved playing with him. He was a very involved uncle who cherished his time with them. He also was very close to many aunts and uncles, and had a lot of friends including his best friend, Saul, who was the brother he never had. Brian was a very kind and compassionate person. He will be missed always and cherished forever. Mass of Christian burial will be on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, from 2-8 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home, where parish wake will be held at 7:30 p.m.
