Myrna Catherine Myers McInerney passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at Homewod at Plum Creek, Hanover, PA. She was the loving wife of the late Vincent E. “Mac” McInerney who passed away October 30, 1996.

Myrna was the daughter of the late Jacob D. Myers and Mary M. “Maggie” Follmar Myers. She was born February 9, 1924 in Hanover and baptized at Lohr’s Memorial (now United Methodist) Church April 20, 1924. Growing up she was an active member of Lohr’s Sunday School and sang with the church choir for many years. She attended Hanover Area schools, graduating from Eichelberger Senior High School in 1942.

Prior to graduating from High School she had part time employment at G. C. Murphy 5 & 10 Store (now Clarks Shoe Store). After graduation she began work at the First National Bank. She continued working as a bank employee for over 40 years, serving as General Ledger Book-keeper and Accountant for Dauphin Deposit Bank (now M&T) and Southern PA Bank.

Myrna was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hanover, AARP and a former North Hanover Mall Walker. She enjoyed going on one day bus trips and especially dinner theaters. In her “hay days” Myrna enjoyed square dancing to the “big bands”, bowling and pitch and putt golf. When she resided in York (Spry) she sang in the Otterbein U. M. Church choir and enjoyed membership in the Dallastown Business and Professional Women’s Club. After moving to Lancaster County with Vince, she continued to participate in the choir at Chiques U. M. Church and also sang in the Mount Joy Community Chorus. She always enjoyed working with plants, both indoors and out.

Myrna is survived by her sister-in-law, Muriel C. Myers; three nieces, Billie Anne (Richard) Guise, Jeanne C. (Dominic) Firmani and Frances C. (James)Fuhrman; a nephew, Dennis L. Cullison; a step-daughter, Joan McInerney Schock; three step granddaughters and numerous great grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters Mary L., Bessie E. and Barbra Myers and Ruth N. Cullison; brother, David G. Myers; and nephew Stephen Cullison.

Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate the life of Myrna McInerney will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA with Rev. Greg Rapp officiating. Facial masks are mandatory due to Covid-19. The family will receive friends from 10am until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at 2:30pm Wednesday at the Otterbein United Methodist Church of Spry Cemetery,
