God has received a special angel, James (Jim) Allen Whitson, 93, on Monday October 26, 2020. Born on June 30, 1927 in Carrington, ND. He was the son of the late Ray and Frankie Whitson.
Jim served in the Navy during WWII. after the war, he returned back to Billings where he married his first wife, Norma. Together they had two daughters, Debby and Cheri. Later he married Janet L Phillips with whom he was happily married to for 56 years. Together they had eight children, six of whom survived. Jim, a dedicated and tireless worker, spent over 39 years as a regional vice president for RCA Electronics. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, watching his favorite local sports teams and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his current wife Evelyn (Mangus) of nine years, children Cheri, Robert, Sharon, Pamela, Suzanne and Jonathan. He is also survived by Evelyn's children, Marlon, Bryon, and Shon along with 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Jim was beloved by all who knew him, his vibrant and outgoing personality ensured he never met a stranger!
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Janet, parents, sister Shirley, and daughters Debby and Terri. Memorial Services will be on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 1pm at Mountview Cemetery with Military Honors. Daddy you will be greatly missed and have left us with many fond memories that will be cherished forever.
