Service for Kenneth Washington will be held Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Stallings Funeral Home at 1 PM.

Kenneth “Simmons” Washington also known as “Kojak” was born on September 10,1944 in Charleston South Carolina to the late Ruth Helen Washington later becoming the son of the late Henry Lloyd Simmons.

On February 2020 Kenneth became a resident of Waterside Health and Rehab Center in Norfolk Virginia. On Tuesday even July 21,2020 God said come with me my son I will give you rest.

Kenneth grew up in Charleston, later move to North Carolina where he attended and graduated from Currituck Union School in 1963. He joins the U.S Navy in 1963 after leaving the Navy in four years. He joins the Merchant Marines for 2 years pursued a Career in law enforcement. He worked for 26 years as a Correctional Officer at Maple Correctional Unit before retiring.

Preceded in death by his mother and father, three brothers Ray Simmons, Darry Simmons, and Forman Earl Simmons. Kenneth leave to cherish daughter Sheron (Nikki)Bryant, one grandson Khamair Bryant. One sister Lydia Turner (David), Two sister in laws Georgia Ann Simmons, Linda Simmons Two niece Kennethra Bell, Christin Turner, one nephew Forman Earl Simmons. One great nephew Geoffery Bell, One great great niece Maecy Bell and a host of other relatives and friends.
