Viewing and visitation for Mary G. Rivera, 93 of Lubbock will be from 12:00 p.m.to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Calvillo Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 30, 2020 at The Dream Center with Pastor Josh Ramirez officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rivera, surrounded by her family was called to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 27, 2020. She was born on April 9, 1927 in Montgomery, Texas to the late Jose Amador and Macaria Davila. She married Luis Rivera, March of 1967 in Lubbock. She was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family. Though she loved all her family, she especially loved taking care of her daughter with special needs.

Survivors include her six children, Gilbert Navejar and wife San Juana, Yolanda Celis, Mary Jane Mahaffey and husband David, Johnny Chapa, Linda Saenz and husband Abel, and Sylvia Rivera all of Lubbock; three sisters, Betsy Cruz, Jane Garza and Angel Diaz all of Slaton; eighteen grandchildren; forty six great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Luis Rivera ; seven brothers, Raymond Davila, Phillip Davila, Jesse Davila, Charlie Davila, Jose Davila and Martin Davila, Luis Davila; two sisters, Lupe Chavez, Cruz Flores; two grandsons, Albert Trevino, Christopher Chapa; a great grandson, Isaiah Saenz and a great great great grandson, Nehemiah Deleon.

According to local and state guidelines, facemasks will be required at all times during visitation and funeral services. Temperatures will be taken upon entering funeral home
