Betty Jo Chambers, 90-year-old Ketchum resident, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020 at the Grove Integris Hospital. She was born on February 1, 1930 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Munford and Pearl (Woods) Castleberry. Betty married Bill Chambers on June 6, 1960 in Wheeler, Texas. They lived in Tulsa until 1975 when they moved to the Grand Lake area and started B & B Auto Parts near Ketchum. Betty worked as the bookkeeper at the auto parts store, along with raising their family. She was of the Christian faith and loved to travel. Betty loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Bill in 2009, son’s Jimmy Hitchcock and Alan Chambers, daughters, Sharon (Hitchcock) Spencer and Jackie (Chambers) Antle, sister Floetta (Castleberry) Tadpole.
The surviving family includes; her children, Billy Chambers and wife Kay of Mounds, Oklahoma, Gary Hitchcock and wife Rosie Ketchum, Oklahoma, Ruthann Bowers and husband Mike of Grove, Oklahoma, Sandy Boisseau of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Janet Males and husband Bud of Langley, Oklahoma, nineteen grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2020 at the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel in Vinita.
The celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fellowship of Believers Church near Langley, Oklahoma.
