She was the second youngest of five children born to Leonard Milton Haynes and Jean Francis Blakey. Her father was a career military man and so the family moved often. At six years of age, her family moved to Security, Colorado, where Angela attended North Elementary School. Her parents then moved to Widefield, Colorado where she attended Talbot and Webster Elementary Schools and Watson and Janitell Middle Schools. Angela graduated in 1977 from Widefield High School where she was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). While in this program she had the opportunity to intern at Peterson Air Force Base. Her internship was so successful, that she was offered a full-time position as a senior in high school, where she worked until she left to attend college at the University of Northern Colorado in the fall of 1977.
In 1978 Angela was a professional cheerleader for the Denver Nuggets. She then paired her love of cheer with her dedication for helping others and ran cheerleading camps for the National Cheerleading Association for over five years in Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico. She was also a judge for the Colorado State Spirit Contest, all while maintaining full time employment at Walter Drake and Sons for over a decade.
Angela met her husband in Colorado Springs and they married May 15, 1982. To their union they were blessed with two children.
Angela also demonstrated her passion for helping others by taking care of neighbors, the elderly, and her grandbabies. She was a devoted “Grammy” and spent countless hours with all her grandkids, instilling manners, respect and love. She attended every sporting event or school activity she could and was always the loudest cheerleader! Her love for her family was unmeasurable and unconditional.
Angela Rene’ was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Jean Haynes; Father-in-Law, Kenneth (Donald) Patterson; her sister-in-law, Princess Callum; and her niece, Nicole “Tutti” Hood.
Angela had a big heart, the prettiest blue eyes, and an infectious spirit that filled any room. She loved hard and she loved real. She will be missed by all, but her energy and personality will not be forgotten.
