Joan Rita Thomas of Plymouth, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday evening October 25th. She was born in Plymouth on June 4, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Manuel and Helen (Vecchi) Thomas. She was educated in Plymouth and a graduate of Plymouth High School. Joan started her successful career as a longtime employee of New England Telephone and AT&T in Florida. She loved her home on the Plymouth Waterfront where she spent countless hours sitting on her porch enjoying the view, taking in the ocean air, and handing out treats to the neighborhood dogs. She was an avid world-wide traveler, animal lover, phenomenal baker, exceptional Thanksgiving and Fourth of July hostess, and she enjoyed spending time with her beloved friends and family.

Joan is survived by several cousins including Rosalie Ghidoni and husband John of Plymouth, Steven Ghidoni and family of Kearney, MO, Carol Ghidoni Kuhn and family of Plymouth, Nancy Ghidoni Paull and family of Plymouth, Michael Ghidoni and family of Plymouth and long time friend Carol King of Jacksonville, FL.

Private graveside service will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Plymouth.
