Margaret married James Grigsby in 1830 in Limestone Co. She was 18, and he was nearly 40. She bore James five children before her death in childbirth.(see bio of James Grigsby) Within two weeks of Margaret's death, two young sons, William Currin and Thomas Martindale Benton, died of unknown causes and were buried beside her. According to the Alabama Courier Jan. 4, 1894, the living son and two daughters were taken under the care of their grandmother Martindale in Veto with whom they lived until they married.
