He moved to Prairie View, OK as a small boy where he attended Prairie View Schools and Central High. Jim began working construction. He helped build the Eufaula Dam and the Ponca City Dam.
In 1972, he moved to Checotah, bought a truck and began working for Dewey Browning. Later he bought his own truck, sold it, and retired. That did not last long. He went back to work and continued working until his death.
On October 11, 1980 Jim married the love of his life, Helen Bonds in Miami, OK spending 40 years together.
He loved truck driving, working, and his grandkids. Jim especially loved spending time with Helen, at Branson, eating Sunday dinner at his sisters, and he also loved his sons-in-law fish fries with his family. He enjoyed spending time helping others, no matter what the need. He attended First Assembly of God in Checotah.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Winnie and Earl Hart, and his brothers, Bobby Hart and Walt Hart; his sister-in-law, Nancy Hart; his brothers-in-law, Doyle Roberts, Harold Lawson, and David Lake.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Helen Hart; his eight children, Sandra and Tommy Mitchell of Checotah, OK, Cheri Martin of Checotah, OK, Robert and Kim Hurst of Tulsa, OK, Valorie and Mitch Davis of Hitchita, OK, Terri and Calvin Latta of Checotah, OK; Donald Hart of Checotah, OK, Cindy and Jimmy Quicksall of Granbury, TX, Shelly and Ronnie Hill of Shawnee, OK, and his 17 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren.
