Obituary
Ann Ellen Riley Henderson 75 of Tuttle, Oklahoma went to be with Jesus on October 18th, 2020
Ann was born to Ed and Erma Riley on April 25, 1945. She attended school in Briscoe and Wheeler, Texas. She attended banking courses at Amarillo College and also a number of other locations in Texas and Oklahoma.
She and James Henderson dated for several years, until they married on March 9, 1962. They would have celebrated 59 years in March 2021. They made their first home in Kelton. After several moves to Amarillo and Lubbock they settled in their hometown Wheeler, Texas. Wheeler was their home for several decades. They raised their children close to their own family, as well as lifelong friends who were loved like family.
Ann loved her work in banking and took great pride in all things she did. She worked at the First National Bank of Wheeler, Texas for 25 years before retiring. She retired to strike out on a journey to new places with James. They moved to Tuttle, OK where she was employed by Sooner State Bank as Administrative assistant, and Vice President. She served the Tuttle community at Sooner State for 18 years before retiring. Everywhere she worked the people she worked with became family. She has had lifelong relationships with so many. She was loved by them and loved them. She truly cared for her customers as well.
Ann has always loved God. She was raised in church. She raised her children with that same love. She loved James and her family with all she had and similar to her mother and mother in law. This means filling the table with favorites for all at all holidays or weekend visits. These traditions are deep seeded and continued by her children today. She enjoyed Gunsmoke reruns, baking and cooking, church and bible study. She always said traveling with James to Colorado each summer was one of her big joys, and enjoyed back to her home afterwards. They also traveled and would see old friends and through that made many new. She truly cherished those friendships and memories.
