Susan Robinson Emerson Thompson, 57, passed away at her home in Milan, TN on October 25, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 7, 1963, to Barbara Dellinger and Joe Robinson. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Milan.
Susan always put her family and friends first, and she never met a stranger. She loved traveling, especially to the beach. Apart from being an outstanding wife and mother, Susan loved being “MeMe” to her two grandsons, David and Will. Susan was an avid supporter of the Milan YMCA where she formerly served on the Board of Directors. She was also a previous member of Milan Junior Auxiliary. Susan was an employee at Lowe’s for many years until she retired in 2017.
She is survived by her husband Brian Thompson of Milan to whom she was married for 30 years; two sons, Joseph Emerson (Alise) of Oxford, MS and Andrew Thompson of Brooklyn, NY; two grandchildren, David and Will Emerson of Oxford, MS; father, Joe Robinson (Rosemary) of Bolivar, TN and mother, Barbara Dellinger (Earl) of Bolivar, TN; two brothers, Tim Robinson (Theresa) of Manford, OK and Steve Robinson (Amy) of Bolivar, TN; one step-sister, Brandy Adams (Jonny) of Arlington, TX ; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her former husband, David Morris Emerson.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 12 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Milan with burial to follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Milan.
