Mr. Alfred Darnell Posey, 79 of Corinth-Poseyville Road, Bremen passed away June 20, 2007. Mr. Posey was born on March 23, 1928 in Haralson County, Georgia the son of the late James W. Posey and Irma Grubbs Posey. A retired Taxidermist and Member of Poseyville United Methodist Church. Member of Draketown Lodge, Founder of Bowdon Junction Quartet, he also sang with other groups, he had a great love for Convention type singing. Survivors include his wife, Rubye Shedd Posey of Bremen; daughter, Stephanie B. Posey of Bremen; son, Stephen D. Posey of Pensacola, FL, daughter in law, Lusinda Posey of Bremen; sister, Flora Riggs of Canton; brothers and sisters in law, J.N. & Minnie Belle Posey of Bremen and Bobbie & Tommie Posey of Celeste, TX; six grandchildren, George E. & Michelle Posey, Sindi & Chris Hearn, Carmen Posey, Maria Vaughn, David Jett & April Brown and Stephen Christopher & April Brown; three great-grandchildren, Alexis Vaughn, Mason Vaughn and Naomi Abigail Brown. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 21, 2007 between the hours of 3 & 5 pm and 7 & 9 pm. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, June 22, 2007 at 2 PM from The Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home in Bremen with Reverend Alan Posey and Reverend Harold Hamrick officiating. George Brown and Chris Brown will be speaking. Music will be provided by the Church Choir under the direction of J.N. Posey accompanied by Maxine House. David Jett Brown, Jr., Christopher Brown, George Posey, Christopher Hearn, Stephen Posey and Randy Redding will serve as pallbearers. Granddaughters and great granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in Poseyville Church Cemetery.
