He was born March 4, 1941 in Stockdale, Texas to Craig and Margarette (Germer) Garner. Rodney went to high school at Stockdale High School and graduated in 1959.
He was the pastor for First United Pentecostal Church of Security for fifty-one years.
Rodney enjoyed hunting and being outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Craig and Margarette Garner; three brothers; and two sisters.
