AGE 85 YEARS
Catherine J. (Younie) Warren of Wilmington, passed away on October 23, 2020. Catherine was the beloved wife of 61 years to the late Joseph F. Warren; devoted mother of Mark Warren of Medford, Kenneth Warren and Robert Warren of Wilmington, David Warren of Billerica, and Christine Kelsall of Bedford, NH. Loving "Grammie" of 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Cherished daughter of the late Edward and Beatrice (Greene) Younie; dear sister of the late Dr. William Younie.
Cathie was born on March 5, 1935, in Winthrop, MA. Cathie was raised in East Boston, where she attended Catholic Schools and graduated from the Fitton High School. Cathie went on to further her education at Boston State Teacher’s College where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Education. She then accepted a teaching position in Everett. Cathie married Joseph Warren in 1959; the couple settled in Wilmington, where they raised five children and became members of a “tight-knit” and friendly neighborhood.
Cathie was a very devoted and loving wife and mother; she made a warm and welcoming home for her family and their friends. She was an excellent seamstress who made clothes and Halloween costumes for her children. She also made beautiful bedding sets and window treatments for her home as decorating trends changed over the decades; she took pride in caring for her family. When Cathie became a “Grammie” her world became even brighter; she looked forward to watching her grandchildren, attending their events, seeing them grow up and always beaming as she spoke of their accomplishments.
