Nancy Scott, 80, of Centralia, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Centralia Manor in Centralia.
She was born September 12, 1940 in Centralia, the daughter of Angelo Ballantini and Mildred (Grable) Ballantini. She married Richard "Dick" Lee Scott on December 5, 1959; the couple was married nearly 54 years when he passed away on October 16, 2013.
Nancy is survived by her son, Jeff and his wife Dina (Sheathelm) Scott of O’Fallon; a granddaughter: Emma and her husband Jeremy Laird of Macomb, Illinois; a grandson: Michael Scott of Worthington, Ohio; a great-grandson: Jackson Laird; a brother: Hershel Moore of Terrell, North Carolina; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Ronnie Ballantini of Indianapolis and Jim Moore of Centralia, and a sister: Kathy (Moore) Murphy of Centralia.
Nancy was a member of the Centralia Township High School Class of 1959. She was a seamstress at the factory in Centralia for several years before working as a cashier at Kroger. She attended Demaree United Methodist Church in Centralia until her health limited her mobility. Nancy enjoyed spoiling her grandkids, tending to her many houseplants, and amassing a collection of angels that required several curio cabinets to display.
